A Philosophic Exercise
“Weakness is Provocative”- Donal Rumsfeld, ‘Rules of Life’
The government of the US has never wanted to appear weak, never. From the American Revolutionary War and onward in time, the govt has always projected strength. Now is not the time for pussies. Never is the time for pussies, the US credo. So here we are with some warring neocons firmly in charge of US foreign policy. A little know fact is that before being renamed foreign policy the same ethos(or entity) was named war policy. During the last real(declared by Congress) war, WW II, this same entity was composed of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the military, the executive branch, and the State Department among others. War was THE policy discussed. After WW II ended, September 2, 1945 the war policy was renamed foreign policy. War is still the aim, only the name has changed.
So here we citizens are today with an unrepresentative government poised on the brink of, perhaps, two wars. They won’t be called wars, of course, because Congress has to actually act to declare war.
First would be Iran. This country along with Israel has had it in for Iran ever since they had a revolution in 1979 deposing the US’s puppet, The Shah of Iran. A Shia Islamic theocracy has been in place since then. A government of elected officials work beside the Islamic Leaders to govern Iran. Fine. I won’t ever be visiting them. They do not threaten us here at home. They do care about all the dirty deeds the US and Israel do in their vicinity. This is the bone of contention these says. Israel screams NUKES, which due to the JCPOA(Obama’s Iran nuclear deal) they lost the capability to manufacture nuclear weapons. According to the official inspectors Iran was, and still is, following the ‘deal’. The Trump admin broke the deal! Not Iran; the US at Israel’s behalf. Sanctions ensue. This is an act of war though the feckless media never puts it this way. Other nations are now being coerced to stop trading or buying oil. The waivers for such are expiring.
National Security Advisor, ‘Caligula’ John Bolton is behind the ramp up to war. A refurbished aircraft carrier group, The USS Abraham Lincoln — the same one Bush II landed on back in May 1st of ’03, and giving his ridiculous “mission accomplished” stump speech on national TV — is now sailing to a gulf in Iran’s vicinity. Harsh words are issued by Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ‘Maximus’. War is in their blood. Iran doesn’t threaten us here at home. So why the war drums? I speculate that the US may very well try to manufacture support for an unwinnable war with Iran. This has be brewing for years. Regime change is certainly in the air. My question: why? What’s so fucking important that thousands or even millions of lives may be sacrificed for more needless war? A ‘false flag’ might even happen, so beware of crazy reports.
Former Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson may be he only Secretary of State with no blood on his hands. Most of the former secretary’s have copious amounts of blood including countless children.
So why my speculative pessimism? Because of 60 years of being aware of my country’s involvement in various wars over the years. Peace just isn’t in the works for these bloodthirsty leaders. Besides the last war the US can safely say they won was WW II. Even the First Gulf War back in ’91 was just a tuna-in-a-barrel shoot. Never mentioned were the soldiers that returned with horrible lung diseases from all the burning oil wells, set by the Iraqi’s, and burning fire pits set by the US military. Or the suicides. The ecological disaster alone was notable, a real loss. I don’t call slaughtering retreating columns soldiers a win. It’s tuna-in-a-barrel shooting. A war crime.
What’s next? We’ll have to wait and see what’s next, I’m sure Trump doesn't know. That’s why we have Caligula and Maximus. They do the dirty work along with the good ol’ CIA. They are causing the trouble. They need to be stopped and out out to pasture so peace loving folks can go about trying to live in the present dystopia in the USA. Just imagine how all the $7+ trillion and counting, could be used instead of destroying the world. A war with Iran will add at least $7+ trillion more to the nation’s debt. The US govt, and the taxpayers which are always stuck with war debt, can’t afford war. There’s no justification whatsoever. And as any regular reader knows, I’m fucking sick of war. I can’t not think about it without copious amounts of vodka which is killing me. My personal nihilism. Angst. So I write instead. I like using my brain. I’ve pickled it enough with whisky and vodka.
Tomorrow I may write about all the lies percolating around on corporate(MSM) media about Venezuela. The other intervention that’s brewing. The US has an idiot puppet, Guiado, groomed here to take power when the failed coups by the CIA actually succeed. I doubt it. Another ‘false flag’ night ensue. We’ll see. This is still speculative realism.
A Movie, Several Actually
Lastly a movie I’m recommending. “Suspiria” finally came up on Amazon Prime last weekend. An arty horror flick that I will have to watch again as it was full of metaphorical allusions and allegory. Themes concerning women were used throughout the film. It was richly photographed and has a decent score. Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton starred. It was an intense slow creep with an explosive ending. My mouth was agape during the last few scenes. I liked it, a lot. But be warned it certainly isn’t for everyone. It’s what I call a longer film, over 2:15(135 minutes) in length. It clocks in at 2:32, 152 minutes. A “horr-epic” as the cast called it. Arty and horror fans should like it. Right now Amazon has three superior horror films streaming: “Hereditary” staring Toni Collett, “A Quiet Place” staring Emilie Blunt and John Krasinsky who also directs. Dreary dread. Sneakily creepy. Not to be left out Netflix has “The Witch”, a period approach toward witchcraft. Don’t forget “The Autopsy of Jane Doe’, a really creepy movie taking place mostly in a morgue. “Bird Box” is also very good, starring Sandra Bullock. Post apocalyptic nightmare.
I’ll finish with this. If horror’s your thing watch a good movie or two. Don’t wish the actual horror of war. Yes, real horror and terror accompany war. This is the 21st century and war can’t be an option anymore. A few Big anti-war protests in Washington are required to stop needless wars. Really! Raise hell! Show those motherfucking psychopaths we don’t want war. Stop relying on propaganda from MSM, it’s all mostly lies. Watch a good film, even Marvel is preferable to war or “Game of Thrones” or “Homeland” for that matter. Read a good book. Anything but another damn war. Peace, The Ol’ Hippy
