“Fundamentally it is our own basic thoughts that possess truth and life, for only these do we really understand through and through. The thoughts of another that we have read are crumbs from another’s table, the cast-off clothes of an unfamiliar guest.” Arthur Schopenhauer~Essays and Aphorisms — From Parerga and Paralipomena — 1851

“Essentially humans are magical beings. We think magically a lot of the time and rationalize our choices we make by claiming rationality. We like to believe, like in the movies that; “things will be OK”, when clearly they are far from that as one’s home burns down…

Welcome to Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth...No wait!, it's a facade. Underpinning this massive delusion are a sea's worth of dysfunctional goons caught up in power grabs to keep the regime of capitalism in 'till it extinguishes all life on Earth.

Welcome to the dystopia of the 21st century. Take a good look now because it will keep devolving until is stops working completely. I fear for the youth of the world, Greta Thunberg's generation. They, and the younger ones as well, will face a world we oldsters never saw coming. Well the majority, that is. I knew it would get bad eventually. I just didn't expect to live to see it actually happen. Peace, The Ol' Hippy

“Acts not so motivated or intended are defined by the others as destructive, or persecutory, or sick because they entail the breakup of their ‘family’. Each must sacrifice himself therefore to preserve the ‘family’.” R.D. Laing~The Politics of the Family — 1969–1971

“The US industrial society likes to envision itself as an ‘shining example’ of western ‘democracy’, a family of sorts that projects good onto the world with peaceful methods and means. Of course this projection is actually the opposite of what it believes. It is sick inside. We all dwell within this disease. It likes to place blame for…

A Personal Narrative Odyssey

Tuesday, September 11th, 2001

I sleep with the TV on usually tuned so The Today Show is airing. Back in ’01 I was sleeping on my couch. About 9: 30 AM, MDT- When I awoke I was somewhat surprised that ‘The Today Show’ was showing what I believed to be a demolition of a building; a) in Las Vegas, NV like an old hotel, or, b) an old projects building in NY or Chicago, for instance. This was my main first impression. Then, when greater wakefulness sat in, and I became alert, I realized they weren’t showing an old building being demolished. It was…

Memories of a Sorcerer, I. “A becoming-animal always involves a pack, a band, a population, a peopling, in short, a multiplicity. We sorcerers have always known that. It may very well be that other agencies, moreover very different from one another, have a different appraisal of the animal. […] But we are not interested in characteristics; what interests us are modes of expansion, propagation, occupation, contagion, peopling. I am legion.” Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guttari~A Thousand Plateaus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia — 1980~Paris — 1987~US

“Twenty years ago today we were living our lives as normally as possible. I was still…

I've often said that you can bet your bottom dollar that if the US govt is blaming another state on whatever nefarious infraction, they are doing the same with only more zeal and perseverance. Psychologists call this projection. I call it mirroring. Or, just another way to deflect blame away from the source.

Like all the terror attacks on US forces in, lately, the Middle East. If the soldiers or US personnel weren't 'over there' they wouldn't be there to get blown up by terrorist attacks. So simple a child could figure it out, eh? …

“Our rights are repeatedly being trampled upon. The case in Texas last week is just one glaring example of a loss of freedoms. Authoritarianism, and its close brother, fascism, are just below the surface in our everyday affairs. I remember the riots back in the 1960’s before the Civil Rights Act was signed into law by Johnson, in July, 1964. Riots were a sign of those turbulent times.

“For every civil freedom we gained back then, with protests, rioting, blood, deaths even, we are losing just about as fast. This century, starting in 2001 with the attacks of September 11,’01…

Sure, faith in a bunch of Yahoos with their interests stopping just barely past their own necks. Faith my ass. Even here in the US with the Bill of Rights, I've seen the erosion's increase exponentially since the attacks of September 11,'01. That was their excuse then. COVID is the excuse now. Same authoritarian measures different subtext. Strangling us all like a giant Python. It never releases it ever tightening grip, ever.

Maybe it's time for Australians to pressure their government to draft such a document, pass it, and put into law for all to benefit from a new civility…
